Step 3: Find your camera model from the list of models given and click on it. In this case, you are choosing “VIOFO A119 V3 Dash Camera Firmware.” It will open a page showing the latest version of the update for the VIOFO A119 V3, V2.4. Below it, you’ll see a guide on how to install the firmware update. Scroll down to find the download link and click on it to download. The file size is 2.71MB
Step 4: Get a memory card (64GB -128GB preferably).
Step 5: Format the memory card to FAT32 using a computer or camera (Guide on how to format microSD card using the camera is given below)
Step 6: Insert the memory card into the camera and connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable. The record light lights up, and then the camera starts up with a little noise and a start screen. It will then go into microSD card reader mode.
Step 7: Copy the downloaded file from the computer and paste it into the root of the camera. Ensure that the downloaded file is a bin file; it should have a .bin suffix. The filename should be FWA119V3.bin
Step 8: Close the camera file on the computer and eject the memory card. Then unplug the USB cable.
Step 9: Reconnect the camera to the computer using the USB cable and wait for few seconds for the camera to restart. The red LED light in front will be blinking while the upgrade is going on.
Once the upgrade is completed, the firmware will be deleted automatically from the memory card.
How to Format MicroSD Card in VIOFO A119 V3?
Most microSD cards come from the factory in a format that the VIOFO A119 V3 dash camera is not readable. It has to be reformatted as FAT32 so that the dash camera can read them. Follow the simple steps below to format an SD card on your A119 V3.
Step 1: Insert SD card and connect to power. The camera will startup, and a message will pop up on the screen that reads ‘Please Format the MicroSD Card.’
Step 2: Press the menu button twice and then scroll down the options using the arrow/record button. Keep scrolling until you see the format command.
Step 3: Press the center button to select, and with the arrow key, select OK to format.
Step 4: Exit the menu, turn off the camera and disconnect from the power source.
Step 5: Reconnect the camera and restart it to verify that the format was successful.
Your SD card is ready to use. The red LED recording light will come on, indicating that the camera is recording live.
