When you are purchasing a VMX-3T magnifier, you will receive a shim plate. When You use this at the bottom of the base, the height from rail surface to center of the optic will be 40mm. This puts the dot height at a lower 1/3 sight picture when co-witnessed with standard AR-15 iron sights.

How to Recenter the Red Dot Image on VMX-3T Magnifier?

When you finally attach your VMX-3T Magnifier to your firearm, you will find that the red dot is not positioned right in the middle of your view. This does not mean your aim is not accurate. Because the magnifier only magnifies the view from your red dot sight.

But you will prefer the red dot to appear at the center of your view. Naturally, that’s where our eye will look for the red dot when the target is within your sight. Not to worry, Vortex has given you the option to adjust that as well.

You can find two screws on the magnifier, one on top and one on the side. Using these two, you can center the red dot on your optic. Try not to force the screw if you feel any resistance. That will only mean that end-of-travel.

I would like to highlight this again. Perfectly centering is not required here because that will not affect the accuracy by any means.

How to Adjust the Focus on VMX-3T Magnifier?

If you are receiving blurry images, try the focus knob near the Ocular lens to get sharper images. You can turn the dial clockwise or counter-clockwise for this.

How to Use the Flip Mount?
