Most yachts are designed from the outside in, but the 100 meter icebreaker concept Thor Explore was designed in the opposite order, from the inside out.
Designed by UK-based superyacht Design studio Gresham Yacht Design, the Thor Explore has a spacious, bright interior with large nautilus shaped Windows offering sweeping views of the sea and a masculine exterior.
The large Nautilus window is a key feature of the exterior space, and behind the large Nautilus window is a double-height area that includes a floating glass floor, supported by exposed structural beams for a broader view.
The upper level of this space can be used by guests and owners as a mission control center for planning adventures. At the center of the space is a sunken seating area between decks, with an adjustable glass floor,At the flick of a switch, the glass floor becomes opaque, separating the top and bottom floors of the main building to ensure privacy. The area also features a lounge bed, bar and central seating area.
With a cabin capacity of 36 passengers, the 100-metre-high iceboat also offers state-of-the-art hangars, a helipad and a spacious beach club, extending the feel of a floating spaceship to the outside.
