Inspired by the movie Modern Times, the ROKU watches have a facade similar to the hexagonal nut Chaplin struggled with in the movie.

There are many hexagons in nature, and the honeybee hive is a wonder of nature’s delicate creation. The snowflakes floating in the sky also have a natural hexagonal structure, and if you look closely, the soap-bubbles also have a natural hexagonal displacement, which is a natural physical form in the universe.

ROKU’s design describes the correlation of two shapes: a hexagon and a circle. The hexagonal case is associated with the 12-hour clock, and the circular face ACTS as a circular motion of time. The two powerful shapes echo each other.Just as the concept of time is both the passing hour/minute/second and the punctuation we use to record specific events. The ROKU dial is matte gray/black, sun sand polished silver/black, and has this radioactive texture. The front lines and sides are soft, with a beautiful contrast between simplicity, the leather belt models are made of tanned leather, retaining the natural texture of calfskin, and the nail and pointer are made of the now popular luminous paint, which is easy to recognize even at night.

“Roku is designed based on the correlation between two different geometries: the hexagon and the circle. The six sides of the hexagon refer to the 12 hours of the dial, while the circle symbolizss the circular movement of time. The circle is, in fact, the natural shape for a watch,” explains Konstantin Grcic. “The two forms, in harmony with each other, still manage to maintain a certain tension. Like the notion of time: on one hand, the inexorable flow of time, on the other – the cadence of events.”
