The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most powerful Mustang to date, but for some of the power-hungry Crazers, 760 horsepower may not be enough.Shelby USA’s presence is a good thing, as it is making 100 upgraded GT500 units with more than 800 HP.Ford and Shelby have worked together since the birth of Mustang in 1965, and have done so many times since adding Shelby versions from the GT350 and GT500.Shelby recently released The Shelby American Signature Package for the Ford Mustang, which not only adds a lot of the Snake logo to the look, but also adds 40 horsepower to the engine.
The most exciting part of this package is the power increase in the GT500SE.Shelby has added new belt wheels and coolers to help it add more than 40 horsepower to its 760 (566 kW) power rating.
The package also adds a modified and reduced suspension and carbon fiber hood, helping the coupe lose 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms).
In appearance, the GT500SE remains an American muscle-car, with its large engine compartment vents that reveal its identity as a high-displacement performance car, and the “viper” logo all over the body.
On the interior side, Shelby’s signature is sewn onto the seat surface to signify identity, and the new car has an all-black interior that is understatement and textured.
The GT350SE upgrade sounds a bit more modest.Upgrades include more aggressive handling kits, “sporty interiors,” unique wheels and high-performance tires, and functional styling elements. The kit will be available for GT350 and GT350R models manufactured between 2015 and 2020, though it’s worth noting that the new 2020 model will receive a unique anniversary badge, while other models will receive a standard badge.
