About NordicTrack

You know the effect that Ronaldo has on football? Or the way Micheal Jordan changed the face of basketball? Yeah, that’s exactly what NordicTrack T Series Treadmills did to workouts.

But like every other good thing, this effect did not come suddenly. It took a gradual process. To be honest, one could say it was a long journey to success, something along the lines of Thomas Edison’s story.

NordicTrack is one of the many brands owned by ICON Health & Fitness, Inc.

The company was founded in 1977 by two college students: Scott Watterson and Gary E. Stevenson. It was originally known as Weslo Inc., and it did not start out as a fitness manufacturer.

At first, it imported kitchen equipment, marble, and tableware. Later, it shifted to selling wood-burning stoves. It did not go into fitness until sometime in the 1980s when it sold trampoline.

Before long, it moved to stationary bikes, home gym equipment, and treadmills. Now the company doesn’t just sell; it also makes its own Treadmill and Gym equipment. And the equipment is far from the ordinary or regular equipment you get to see every day.

They are on a whole new level. They combine Treadmill simulations with live workout studio sessions and plans. You can work out with a trainer via a system already programmed for you on the Treadmill. Speakers attached to the equipment allow you to blast as much music as you would like.

It is literally everything you could ask for in your home gym.

NordicTrack T Series Treadmill: Review

Now that you know a little about this series and a little more about the manufacturer, here’s the part where I examine each model independently.

Before we proceed, know that the NordicTrack T Series Treadmill comprises six (6) types: Five Household Models and One Commercial Model(6 Best NordicTrack T Series Treadmills In 2021).

Let’s do this:

NordicTrack T Series Treadmill (T 6.5 S Treadmill): General Overview

NordicTrack T 6.5 S is the first of this series. This Treadmill is made of plastic and steel and has a weight recommendation of about 203 Pounds.

When delivery is made, the package is usually 74inches long, 31.69 inches wide, and about 11inches tall. Most of the package is already assembled. You only need to put together a few things, which really shouldn’t prove difficult. If it does, get a maintenance man to put it together for you.

The Treadmill is powered by corded electricity. So be sure to place it close to a plug-in socket.

  • Unique features

The unique feature of the NordicTrack 6.5 S Model is the in-built iFit training application.

Note that iFit is one of ICON Health & Fitness brands. It is an interactive workout platform where people from all walks of life can workout out simultaneously with a trainer. The company gives you all these luxuries at a subsidized cost.

So when you buy this model of the NordicTrack treadmill, the iFit training feature is in-built. You would be required to register with the app via your mobile phone and confirm your registration on the treadmill screen. If you purchase the Treadmill with certain online stores like Amazon, you’ll get a one-month free subscription.

Note at first, it will seem like you may not be able to access other features on the Treadmill without an iFit subscription. It does seem like that, but it really is not true.

If you would like to use the Treadmill without subscribing to iFit, all you need to do is hold the iFit logo on the treadmill screen for about thirty (30) seconds. After thirty seconds, the page will clear, and you’ll be able to navigate other features on the screen with ease.

The NordicTrack 6.5 S Treadmill has a comprehensive library of over 16,000 workout options. You can try the regular workout, cardio, weightlifting workout tips, full-body building, incline training, YogaYoga, and even pilates classes.

Lastly, you are entitled to a 10-year frame warranty, 2 years for the parts, and 1-year for labor on purchase.

  • NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Model: Product Specifications

Before I give a Review For NordicTrack T 6.5 Si, take a look at the product specifications:

Feature Specifications
Package Dimensions (L x W x H) 76.75 x 31. 25 x 11 (inches)
Item Dimensions 67.5 x 36 x 73 (inches)

Deck Length 55 Inches
Weight Limit 300 pounds
Screen size 10 inches

Unlike other treadmills of the same price range, the NordicTrack T 6.5 Si is quite small; the same goes for the 6.5 S version. But it does serve the purpose for walkers, joggers, and even runners who are not looking to go above the 10mph speed.

However, if you want faster speed with a more powerful engine, you should try other product models.

What this Treadmill lacks in speed, it makes up for in workout routines. Usually, when you buy the device, you get a month’s free iFit Membership. With iFit, you enjoy the luxury of strategic workout training with a live trainer.

If you have exhausted your free subscription with iFit and you do not intend to renew it, there are still other features you can enjoy. There are pre-programmed workout routines on your NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Cushioned Treadmill that can help you attain fitness.

Unlike iFit features, the pre-programmed routines do not get interactive. You won’t have a live trainer to monitor your progress and adjust your workouts based on this progress.

Notwithstanding, you could be your own trainer. You can start with the easy routines and slowly work your way up to the harder ones. The handlebars have CardioGrip sensors that monitor your heart rate, runs, and calories you have supposedly lost during each session. You can note these reports down in a notebook. Then you can pragmatically build your sessions to suit your fitness goals.

You can also optimize the 10″ screen size to change walking-belt simulations. Normally, the Treadmill has real road simulations. It gives you the feel of running against hard tarred roads. With it, though, you can adjust the simulations to something other than just running on the road. For example, there’s the simulation of jogging along the beach in the evenings.

It’s really nice; you should try it.

Asides from walking-belt simulations, you can also change the background on the screen. This feature should serve persons who do YogaYoga better. The change of background could help you attain inner peace and maintain your concentration in the process.

NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Series Treadmill has two cupholders. It gives you room to hold water or any other liquid in a bottle or a cup. There is a tablet holder to prop your device. You could stream your favorite shows or even keep up with work while you workout.

The sound system for this model is also not lacking. It is compatible with Bluetooth devices, and it has an auxiliary audio input too. Though, if you charge your device a lot, then you shouldn’t be buying this model. Or, you could connect your phone to a nearby power outlet. This is because the Treadmill has no HDMI or USB input feature.

  • How to Assemble NordicTrack T 6.5 Si

Assembling this model is not so difficult. It, however, requires two people and the product manual. It is best that the other person be a handyman or any other person who has experience fixing things.

You will find a list of all NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Parts, properly listed and labeled in the manual. These parts include handlebars, walking-belt, accessory trays, wheel, platform cushion, key/clip, console, heart rate monitor, foot rail, power switch, motor hood, power cord, idler roller, and adjustment screws.

The package also comes with screws and star washers of different sizes. Without them, it’ll be impossible to put the machine together. So be sure to check on delivery that all the parts are complete.

Note that parts are to be fixed on either of the Treadmill; the handlebars, for example. So the left parts are labeled “L” and the right, “R.” Also, you will need hex keys and one Philips screwdriver to complete the assembly.

It is advised that you do not use Power Tools to screw the parts together. This is because these tools are capable of damaging certain parts, especially parts made of plastic.

The assembly is a 17-step process starting with the Base and ending with the storage latch. For those who do not have a manual, here’s How To Assemble NordicTrack T 6.5 Si from start to finish:

1.Go to www.nordictrackservice.com registration on your computer and register your product.

  • activates your warranty
  • saves you time if you ever need to contact Customer Care
  • allows us to notify you of upgrades and offers

Note: If you do not have Internet access, call Customer Care and register your product.

2.Make sure that the power cord is unplugged.

Press a Base Cap (74) into each side of the Base (6). Identify the Right Upright (90). Have a second person hold the Right Upright near the Base (6). See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the Right Upright (90) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81). Then, insert the Upright Wire into the lower end of the Right Upright as you pull the other end of the wire tie through the Right Upright.

3.Lay the Right Upright (90) near the Base (6).

Press the Grommet (77) into the square hole in the Right Upright (90). Make sure not to pinch the ground wire. If a screw (A) is pre-attached to the Right Upright (90), remove and discard it. Then, attach the ground wire to the Right Upright (90) with a #8 x 1/2″ Silver Screw (10).

4.Hold the Right Upright (90) against the Base (6).

Be careful not to pinch the wires. Partially tighten three 3/8″ x 4″ Screws (7) with three 3/8″ Star Washers (13) into the Right Upright and the Base; do not fully tighten the Screws yet.

Attach the Left Upright (not shown) in the same way. Note: There are no wires on the left side.

5.Identify the Left and Right Base Covers (82, 83).

Slide the Left and Right Base Covers onto the Left and Right Uprights (89, 90) as shown. Do not press the Left and Right Base Covers into place yet.

6.Identify the Right Handrail (84).

Attach the Right Handrail (84) to the Right Upright (90) with two 5/16″ x 3″ Screws (28) and two 5/16″ Star Washers (11); start both Screws, and then tighten them. Make sure not to pinch the Upright Wire (81).

Attach the Left Handrail (not shown) to the Left Upright (not shown) in the same way.

Note: There are no wires on the left side.

7.Set the Console Base (64) face down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the Console Base.

Remove and discard the two indicated screws (B). Then, remove the Pulse Crossbar (93).

8.If four screws (C) are pre-attached inside the Handrails (84, 85), remove and discard the screws.

IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the Pulse Crossbar (93), do not use power tools, and do not overtighten the #10 x 1 1/4″ Screws (9).Orient the Pulse Crossbar (93) as shown.

Attach the Pulse Crossbar to the Right and Left Handrails (84, 85) with four #10 x 1 1/4″ Screws (9) and four #10 Star Washers (5); start all four Screws, and then tighten them.

9.With the help of a second person, hold the console assembly near the Right Handrail (84) and the Left Handrail (not shown).

Connect the ground wire from the console assembly to the Console Ground Wire (58) on the Pulse Crossbar (93).

See the inset drawing. Connect the Upright Wire (81) to the console wire. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one connector and try again.

IF YOU DO NOT CONNECT THE CONNECTORS PROPERLY, THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DAMAGED WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER. Then, remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire.

10.Set the console assembly on the Right and Left Handrails (84, 85).

Make sure that no wires are pinched. Insert the excess Upright Wire (81) into the Right Upright (90).

Attach the console assembly to the brackets on the Handrails (84, 85) with four 1/4″ x 1/2″ Screws (4); do not tighten the Screws yet.

11.Attach the Pulse Crossbar (93) to the console assembly with six #8 x 1/2″ Screws (1); start all six Screws, and then tighten them. Firmly tighten the four 1/4″ x 1/2″ Screws (4).

12.Attach the Right and Left Trays (27, 36) with four #8 x 1/2″ Screws (1).

13.Raise the Frame (56) to the upright position.

Have a second person hold the Frame until step 15 is completed. Orient the Latch Crossbar (41). Make sure that the “This side toward belt” sticker (D) is facing the Treadmill. Attach the Latch Crossbar to the brackets on the Frame (56) with two 5/16″ x 3/4″ Screws (8) and two 5/16″ Star Washers (11).

14.Remove the 5/16″ Nut (34) and the 5/16″ x 1 3/4″ Bolt (62) from the bracket on the Base (6).

Orient the Storage Latch (26) so that the decals are facing away from the Treadmill.

Next, orient the Storage Latch (26). Attach the lower end of the Storage Latch (26) to the bracket on the Base (6) with the 5/16″ x 1 3/4″ Bolt (62) and the 5/16″ Nut (34).Then, raise the Storage Latch (26) to a vertical position, and remove the tie.

15.Remove the 5/16″ Nut (34) and the 5/16″ x 2 1/4″ Bolt (63) from the bracket on the Latch Crossbar (41).

Align the upper end of the Storage Latch (26) with the bracket on the Latch Crossbar (41), and insert the 5/16″ x 2 1/4″ Bolt (63) through the bracket and the Storage Latch. This will push a spacer (E) out of the Storage Latch; discard the spacer.

Next, tighten the 5/16″ Nut (34) onto the 5/16″x 2 1/4″ Bolt (63). Do not overtighten the Nut; the Storage Latch (26) must be able to pivot.

Then, lower the Frame (56).

16.Firmly tighten all six 3/8″ x 4″ Screws(7).

Slide the Left and Right Base Covers (82,83) downward.

17.Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the Treadmill.

If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic.

To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the Treadmill.

To avoid damage to the console, keep the Treadmill out of direct sunlight. Keep the included hex key in a secure place; the hex key is used to adjust the walking belt.

If you still find it difficult piecing the machine together, then call for a handyman to help you fix it. Or, you could place a call to an appliance store to engage the service of an engineer who can help you piece it all together.

NordicTrack T Series Treadmill (T 7.5 S Treadmill)

One cannot really say that the NordicTrack T 7.5 S is an upgrade of the NordicTrack 6.5 Si. They have almost the same features and only a few differences. In fact, the 6.5 Si has some features that are better than the 7.5 S.

The NordicTrack 7.5 Treadmill has a 300-pound maximum weight capacity, just like the 6.5 Si version. It is very affordable and suitable for new runners. If you do not mind moderate and non-strenuous workout sessions, you should buy this too.

On delivery, the package weighs about 117 kilograms. It contains the treadmill base and other parts, including the upright arms, console, hardware package, deck, and motor. Since the machine is also powered by corded electricity, the treadmill base comes with a power cord.

Assembling the parts of the 7.5 S is a lot easier than the NordicTrack 6.5 Si Assembly. All you need to do is follow the steps contained in the manual.

Like every other NordicTrack T Series, the 7.5 S folds up to save space. It also comes with a year iFit free subscription. With this subscription, you can create as many as five (5) separate workout profiles. And when the subscription ends, you can choose to renew it or not.

If you choose not to renew it, the workout fun still continues. The machine has 50 different pre-programmed in-built workout routines for you. Also, ending the subscription does not stop the machine from monitoring your heart rate or calculating the number of calories you burn each day.

The only difference is the absence of a live trainer and interactive workout sessions with other gymnasts.

Like the 6.5 Si, the 7.5 series also runs at 12 miles per hour. All these happen on a motor with a maximum of 3.0 horsepower. This speed had been said to be quite slow by various NordicTrack T 7.5 S Reviews.

Amidst all these regular features, the 7.5 S has a feature that stands it out from the 6.5 S and the 6.5 Si series. And that’s the incline power.

It seemed like for the first time in this series, ICON Health & Fitness listened to its clients and decided to up the incline power. So instead of the regular 0 – 10% incline that you have in the 6.5 S and 6.5 Si series, the 7.5 S has a 0 – 12% incline power.

Take a look at the key features of the NordicTrack T 7.5 S Treadmill:

Feature Specifications
Package Dimensions (L x W x H) 83 x 32 x 16 (inches)
Item Dimensions 78.5 x 35.5 x 59 (inches)
Weight 0.1 kilograms
Powered by Corded Electricity
SpaceSaver Feature Yes
Material Other
Speed Rate 12 mph
Incline Power 0 – 12%
Weight Limit 300 pounds
Touch Display Size 7″

NordicTrack T Series Treadmill (T 8.5 S Treadmill)

With each new series comes an upgrade. But it seems like NordicTrack does not like to upgrade too much.

With a 78.9″ x 35.5″ x 59.4″ item dimension, the NordicTrack T 8.5 S Treadmill retained most of the features of the models before it. It has an adjustable deck with the FlexSelect programming that allows runners to adjust the firmness of the running surface. They could either alternate between real-world hard surface running tracks or a more cushioned surface. It helps reduce the level of impact the workout has on the joints.

The SpaceSaver Feature also helps you save a lot of space when you are done working it. This feature makes the running Base foldable and reduces the product dimension to 35.5 x 39.6 inches.

Additionally, you have one-touch controls. I personally like this feature. It allows you to adjust the running base simulations, incline, and speed of your workouts without having to stop or shift your balance.

The regular one-year iFit free Membership with over 16,000 interactive workout routines still subsists. Live workout routines are added daily. And if you do not wish to renew your subscription to iFit, you still enjoy the free pre-programmed workout routines on your screen.

To be fair, the NordicTrack T Series 8.5 Treadmill has a few unique features. Though it still maintains the same user capacity with the NordicTrack 6.5 Si weight and the 7.5 S, the motor power was upgraded. Rather than the standard 3.0 horsepower, this model optimizes a 3.5 motor power upgrade.

The deck length is also longer as it measures about 60 inches. The screen size was not left out either. The 8.5 S Treadmill has a 14″ long touch display.

However, one would expect that the speed rating would be upgraded since the motor power was upgraded. But it seems the manufacturers did not see any need for it at this point. Or it could be that they still had light and moderate runners as their target audience.

Here is the key specification of the NordicTrack T 8.5 S Treadmill:

Feature Specifications
Package Dimensions (L x W x H) 82.72 x 31.89 x 16.34 (inches)
Item Dimensions 78.5 x 35.5 x 59 (inches)

NordicTrack T Series Treadmill (T 9.5 S Treadmill)

Motor Power 3.6 CHP
Touch Display Size 14″

Running Area Dimensions(L x W) 20 x 60 inches

There is no difference between the NordicTrack T 9.5 Series and the 8.5 or 7.5 series. Even the NordicTrack T 6.5 Treadmill Sears is pretty similar to it.

The only unique feature of this model is the slight Continuous Horsepower upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6. All other features remained the same.

Here are a few regular features that the NordicTrack T 9.5 S retained:

  • Foldable SpaceSaver Feature
  • In-built fan or Autobreeze feature that adjusts itself to suit the intensity of your work.
  • 1 year iFit free trial membership allows you to create up to five (5) independent workout profiles.
  • Bluetooth audio sync feature
  • Adjustable running base
  • Cupholders
  • One-touch controls

Note that when you buy the T 9.5 Series, the heart rate monitor chest strap does not come with it. If you need it, you’ll have to place an order for it separately.

The Best NordicTrack T Treadmill Series

Before we look at the NordicTrack 1750 Commercial Series Model, I think we should compare the T Series and decide which is the best.

NordicTrack is obviously for light and moderate runners. This is the 12 miles per hour speed rate, and the 12% incline is not tasking enough for heavy runners. Athletes are well past this speed and incline.

Consequently, all the T Series except the NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Series Treadmill and the 6.5 S model are supposedly the best models in terms of speed and incline. Only for light and moderate runners, though.

When it comes to motor power or Continuous Horse Power (CHP) ratings, the 9.5 S model clearly tops the charts. This is because it has the highest CHP with a 3.5 motor power.

The user capacity is almost the same for all the models. Only the 6.5 S model has a 203 pounds user capacity as opposed to the 300 pounds user capacity of other models.

If you like large touch display screens, the 8.5 S and 9.5 S should be your favorite. Of all five T series models, only the 8.5 S and 9.5 have 14″ interactive display screens.

All models except the NordicTrack 6.5 S and 6.5 Si are built with the Autobreeze feature. Except if you don’t mind working out without a fan, you’ll most likely not be getting the 6.5 S and 6.5 Si.

You should also remember that the 9.5 S model does not come with a heart rate chest monitor. You will have to place an order for it separately.

What I’m trying to say is that workout means different things to different people. That is why there’s no strict or uniform workout routine. And is also one of the reasons the iFit app has over 16,000 workout routines.

In essence, you should identify what you want in your home gym. Every model has cupholders, Bluetooth audio sync feature, handlebars, and a running base. So really, you don’t need to factor these things in when choosing what seems like the best NordicTrack T Series.

However, if I was to recommend a T Series model, it will be the 9.5 S Treadmill. Though the product is hardly different from its other T counterparts, some features make it stand out. For example, the upgraded horsepower and the large touch display.

NordicTrack Commercial Series (Treadmill 1750 Model)(NTL14119)

Feature Specifications
Package Dimensions (L x W x H) 82 x 35 x 20 (inches)
Item Dimensions 78.8 x 39.2 x 63 (inches)
Weight 140.2 kilograms
Powered by Corded Electricity
Innovative SpaceSaver Feature Yes
Material Other
Speed Rate 12 mph
Incline Power 0 – 12%
Weight Limit 350 pounds
Motor Power 3.6 CHP
Touch Display Size 10″
Components Console, Hardware Kit, Deck, Treadmill
Running Area Dimensions(L x W) 20 x 60 inches

This Commercial Model tops all the models in the T Series. Well, except in terms of touch display size.

Unlike the regular motor you find in the NordicTrack T Series Treadmills, this model comes with a SMART-Response Motor. The motor runs at 3.75 Horsepower and can cool itself.

The device has a 350 pounds user capacity. It is also heavier than the T series, as it weighs over 140 kilograms. The running Base is about 2″ wider.

Asides from the highlighted differences, the 1750 NordicTrack Commercial Model shares the following features with the NordicTrack T Series:

  • 12 miles per hour speed and a 0 – 12 % incline
  • 1-Year iFit free membership trial with the luxury of creating a maximum of five (5) different profiles
  • Autobreeze feature
  • Bluetooth audio sync feature
  • Powered by corded electricity
  • Lacks a USB or HDMI input
  • Foldable SpaceSaver Feature

Verdict

Clearly, both the NordicTrack T Series Treadmill and the Commercial Model are the same. Only a few slight upgrades seem to differentiate models from each other. It thus makes it really hard to pick a favorite.

However, if I were to recommend one model, it would be the NordicTrack 1750 Commercial Model. And my reason for picking it is clearly obvious; it is the most upgraded model. It possesses the features of all other models and even more.

Notwithstanding, I still believe there’s a lot NordicTrack can improve on. Especially the incline power. It can be upgraded to suit the needs of heavy runners too.

If you are a light or moderate runner, you should already be sold on the NordicTrack Treadmills by now. Hurry to the nearest fitness store and get yours today. Give TreadmillE.com A Try? Enjoy The Best Treadmill Experience.

Yes, you can. So be wary of scammers that tell you that you can’t and force you to pay the subscription fee.

Once you have set up the Treadmill and powered it, simply hold on to the iFit logo on the touch display screen for about 30 seconds. It will disappear, and you will be able to use the Treadmill without the app.

  • How Do You Reset a NordicTrack Treadmill Incline?

One amazing feature of NordicTrack Treadmills is the One-touch controls. Simply click on the incline button on the screen to increase or reduce the incline power.

  • Do NordicTrack Treadmills have warranties?

Of course, they do. For the NordicTrack T Series Treadmills, the warranty is ten (10) years for the Frame, two (2) years for the parts, and one (1) year for labor.

The Commercial Model has a two (2) year warranty for labor, five (5) years for the parts, and a lifetime warranty for the Frame and motor.

  • Does the Treadmill have a power saver or in-built battery?

No, it doesn’t. For every workout session, you will need to power it with an electric cord.
